our story ON A TIMELINE

2016
NGO ENFANCE HARMONIEUSE IS ESTABLISHED
In 2016, Professor Asse, along with his coworkers and a group of local volunteers, started a charity dedicated to establishing a kindergarten in the village of Brobo. Soon, the first classrooms, dining hall and washrooms are constructed.

2022
INTERNATIONAL VOLUNTEERS ARRIVE

February-march 2023
SHARING IS CARING - IVORY COAST IS ESTABLISHED
Thanks to the fundraiser organised by Kacper, the kindergarten was supplied with many toys and educational equipment. In addition, the funds were used to finalise the construction of a playground. Upon his return, Kacper wished to continue the support, thus establishing SIC with a few friends and peers.
First, 3 volunteers sent by the Salvatti Foundation make a month-long visit to the kindergarten, bringing tangible aid, workforce and hearts full of love. Following this, our Founder, Kacper Ścibski, gets to meet Mrs Renata Łęcka, whose experiences inspire him to travel to the Ivory Coast.

august 2023
first heart scholarship awared to celine
Celine, a teenage girl with severe hand malformations, suffered from epileptic seizures on a daily basis. A drug costing approximately 26 euros was out of reach for the family. With our help, her seizure episodes were limited to a few per month, and have been eliminated as of today.

APRIL 2024
OUR TEAM EXPANDs EXPONENTIALLY

december 2023
Ivory Santa becomes our yearly tradition
With the aim of providing Christmas packages to initially 10 kids, we ended up raising enough for 23. These included items of clothing, shoes and school materials. For many of these children, it was the first time they received a gift from Santa.
Given the strong connection with the British Alumni Society and many of our members being their direct beneficiaries, our team exploded with new faces after the BAS qualifications held at Staszic Palace in Warsaw, Poland

SEPTEMBER 2024
our research begins
Having had a broad experience with the Ivorian healthcare system, we identified multiple problems regarding childcare across the country. With the aim of educating the mothers in the Ivory Coast, we started a research group dedicated to spreading the knowledge across the Baoule People.

JULY 2025
OUR THIRD EXPEDITION TO THE IVORY COAST
In the summer of 2025, 4 of our members (Kacper Ścibski, Julia Kruszona, Karol Zimmer and Julia Makowiecka) made a month-long visit to Brobo. They visited all our scholars, helped at the kindergarten, surveyed 290 Ivorian women on motherhood and provided 2900 euros for the construction of the boarding house for children with disabilities.

ONWARD
continuation of support and volunteering
With many new ideas, we carry on our support for the children of Brobo and the surrounding villages. As of now, we hope to finalise the construction of the boarding house and popularise our research.
About our Ivorian Mentor
Professor Kouadio Vincent Asse

Professor Kouadio Vincent Asse is a pediatrician and university lecturer dedicated to improving child health and education in rural Côte d’Ivoire. He serves as Head of the Department of Pediatrics at the University Hospital (CHU) of Bouaké and Vice President of the Ivorian Pediatric Society. Deeply aware of the challenges faced by local communities, he founded the NGO Enfance Harmonieuse in 2016 to provide children from underprivileged families with access to early education, healthcare, and social support.
Guided by his belief that “the cycle of poverty can most successfully be treated at its root,” Professor Asse initiated the creation of a socio-educational complex in Brobo, including a charity kindergarten and playground that now serves over 120 children. His vision continues to expand toward inclusive education and rehabilitation programs for children with disabilities, bridging medicine, education, and community empowerment to build a healthier and more equitable future for Côte d’Ivoire’s youngest generation.

Kacper is a third-year medical student who combines his passion for learning with a love for exploring the world. His journey recently took him to the Ivory Coast, where he immersed himself in a new culture and gained insight into the everyday life of local communities. During his stay, he completed an observational internship at a hospital in Bouaké — an experience that deepened his medical knowledge and provided him with a valuable international perspective.
In the summer, Kacper loves organizing trips — the more spontaneous and off the beaten path, the better. He has recently taken up mountain hiking and already conquered several Polish peaks. Fascinated by both cars and motorcycles, he also finds time to read adventure and popular science books that fuel his curiosity and imagination.
